SHAWNEE, Okla. — Shawnee resident Coy Clayton Collins formerly of Bethel Acres, 94, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at a local nursing home.

He was born April 3, 1914, in Bagota, Texas to Minnie Elizabeth (Tate) Collins and William Henry Collins. He married Lola Loretta Childers Feb. 14, 1953, in Texarkana, Ark. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base and a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Larry DeWayne Collins; two granddaughters, Donna Brown and Jennifer Harper; four brothers and five sisters. Survivors include three sons, Donald Collins and wife Carlene, Clayton Collins, Barry Collins; two daughters, Sharon McKey and husband Rick, Donnita Travillian; grandchildren, Angie Guest and husband Jeremy, Aaron McKey and wife Becky, Kevin Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Collins, Gina Upchurch and husband Mike, Tamara Maddox and husband Dustin; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Service will be 2 pm Thursday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
