ABBOTT DROPS DEAD
W. J. Abbott, who has been employed at the Rawlins Grocery on East Fifth Street, dropped dead last night at 8 o'clock in front of the Santa Fe Grocery. Just at 8 o'clock W. M. Dunlap passed him and asked where he was going. Mr. Abbott replied that he was going to church. He had gone only a few steps when Dunlap heard a gasp and Abbott was found lying across some boxes in front of the Santa Fe Grocery. Dr. O. R. Haymaker was summoned but Abbott was dead before he arrived. It is thought that death was caused by the breaking of a blood vessel in the brain. No funeral arrangements have yet been made.
