Andrew served his country in the US Army from Nov. 1942 to Nov. 1945 as a Military Policeman in the 1399th Military Police Company. His military campaigns included Bismrack Archipelago - New Guinea and Southern Philippines - Luzon Ryukyus. Andrew was a member of the Seminole Baptist Church, Konawa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Jenny (Powell) Douglas and his 2nd wife, Jean Douglas, also preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Roger Cummings; and sisters, Susie Factor, Emma Foster, and Bertha Sherwood.
He will be missed by those who survived him, Obegin Douglas (brother) of Wewoka, BT Douglas (brother) of Seminole, Corene White (sister) of Shawnee, Lillibe Harjo (sister) of Kansas; children, JoAnn (Douglas) Coker of Shawnee, and Andrew Douglas, Jr, of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren, John Coker, Jason Coker, and Joshua Douglas; great-grandchildren, Jason Coker, Jr, Thomas Coker, Jacob Coker, and Joseph Coker.
Wake Service will be Monday 6-8pm. Services to celebrate his life will be 2 pm Tuesday at Resthaven Funeral Home with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee.
