Franklin News-Herald, Tuesday, May 18 1943:
Miss Carrie D. Boyer of Oil City married Richard G. French of Rockland, a parachutist of the U. S. Army, stationed at Camp Stewart, GA, at the home of Dr. Charles Manchester, 1233 Buffalo Street, Monday afternoon, with Rev Manchester, retired Church of God pastor, officiating. They were accompanied by Mrs. Beulah Boyer, the bride's mother, and Mrs. and Mrs. Dwight Schoch of Rockland. Mrs. French will remain with her parents for the present.

Franklin News-Herald, Saturday, Jun 24 1989:Carrie Dorothea French, 64, of 510 Division St., Oil City, died at 10:55 pm Thursday, June 22, in the West Unit of Franklin Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 26, 1924 in Oil City, daughter of Virgil W. and Beulah Irene Ashbaugh Boyer.

On May 15, 1942, she married Richard G. French, who died Dec. 17, 1975.

She worked as a packer and inspector at Foster Forbes Glass Co., and was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, YWCA, and the Pulaski Club. She had been active in the Golden Agers and Gallivanters Club.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Toni) Emerick of Franklin, Mrs. Gregory (Cathy) Ames and Mrs. Rodney (Sherry) Goodman of Oil City RD 1, and Mrs. Louis (Vickie) Heath Jr. of Cooperstown RD 1; a brother, Joseph E. Boyer of Oil City; a sister, Connie Bridge of Ellwood City; and 9 grandchildren. Deceased are her husband; parents; three brothers; and a grandchild.

Services will be at 1:30 pm Monday at Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Howard A. Witherow, retired Christian Missionary Alliance minister, officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.
