Frederick Vant, aged 75 years, was killed by the New York flyer at the Pennellvllle crossing on the New York &Ontario railroad about noon Saturday. His team became frightened and carried him directly in front of the locomotive. One horse was killed instantly while the other was uninjured. Mr. Vant was one of the wealthy farmers of the town of Volney and was on a visit to his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Merriam. The accident happened with-in ten rods of her home, and was witnessed by her husband.
