Helen Alwine (pronounced "Alvina") Brix was born April 12, 1901 to Anton Heinrich Brix and Minna Christina Margaretha (Petersen) Brix, in Astoria, Oregon. She was well loved by her husband, Luther Lee Dunbar (m. August 17, 1929), and three children, Bonnie (b. 1931), June (b. 1934), and Robert (b. 1938 d. 2015). She was an avid genealogist and kept many, many notes on her family and also the Dunbar family. Helen passed away in Monterey County, February 12, 1969, at the home of her daughter, June. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther (d. 1963), and left behind her 3 children and 8 living grandchildren (2 of which were still in the womb when she passed).
