From a local newspaper: Elizabeth McMinn 87, a long time Salem area resident, died May 19, 1993, following a lingering illness. She wass born Nov. 2, 1905 at Richmond, Utah, to Charles and Anna Anderson Barnett. The family moved to Idaho when she was 8, and settled in the Salem area. She attended Sugar-Salem schools and graduated fromthe eighth grade there. On Nov. 19, 1924, she married Lloyd McMinn at St. Anthony. They lived in Salem, where her husband farmed. He died June 1764, and she continued to live in Salem until 1985, when she moved to Elko, Nev. She returned to Rexburg in 1992.
She enjoyed fancywork, fishing and camping.
Survivors include heer children Bruce McMinn of Ucon, Fred McMinn of Rexburg, Mrs. Tom (Sella) Prince of Elko, Nevada, Mrs. Vern (Dorthy) Winegar of Egin, a brother Ethan Smith of Murray, Utah, 27 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sons and a daughter. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 am at the Salem LDS Church with Bishop Perry Robinson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8 pm at Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony and Saturday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Parker Cemetary.
