She was born in New York and grew up in Connecticut and New York City. She was curator of Asian art at the Brooklyn Museum of Art before moving West in 1957.
She then was director of the Bush Preschool in Seattle and later managed the domestic office of the King County Prosecutor's Department.
She moved to Pateros in 1988.
She grew strawberries which she sold at the farmers markets in Twisp and Chelan and served on the Pateros School Board.
She also was an artist and wrote a book about her husband's art.
Survivors include her husband, Rich Beyer; a son; and a daughter.
