2Lt Jerome V. Graves was a crewmember of a C-47 transport plane of the 14th Troop Carrier Squadron, 61st Troop Carrier Group.
On 29 December 1943 the plane crashed near Sciacca in Sicily. All crewmembers on board were killed in the crash. The men were buried in the temporary American GELA Cemetery the following day.
Lt Graves was buried in grave I-98-1169. Date of burial was 30 december 1943.
After the war Lt Graves found his last resting place in the Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas
