1920-1930 Time Span

~~~~~ During late 1920's...1928, John Daniel Rust left Kansas/Missouri area and returned to Weatherford, Texas to live with sister Virginia and husband Levi Gallaway.
Late one night, John woke with idea of how to create the cotton picker. The idea was born from seeing his grandmother using the spinning wheel and process of smoothly spinning cotton.
John tried the idea in garage of his sister. It is undetermined if Mack was sill living with Virginia or if he returned to help John with invention of the cotton picker. The vision to make the first mechanical cotton picker became a reality. John and Mack were in Louisiana by 1930 demonstrating the first mechanical cotton picker.

Note: The grandmother spoken of in development of cotton picker in research progress. Postulate grandmother may have been an indirect relative, but was seen as grandmother by John Daniel Rust.

In addition on the same record, her parents are correct... father~~~ BD Rust and mother~~~Susan Burnett. Update.....01/10/2023. This has created confusion that Mrs. LA was a different person. In addition, the certificate notes year of birth as 1871. Review of census records and her age at time of enumeration confirms her year of birth as 1881, NOT 1871 as noted on death certificate. This confirms Virginia Elizabeth Rust is the same person as MRS. LA Gallaway. And confirms her date of birth on memorial.

Research and historical records reveals following on Virginia Rust and Levi Galloway.

** After the death of Virginia's mother, her brother Calvin B. "Mack" Rust and father, Benjamin Daniel Rust lived with them.
Her father continued to live with them until his death, not long after 1910 census.
Mack continued to live with them until age 20 in 1920 when census enumerated.
Postulate Calvin B "Mack" was named after his maternal grandfather, Calvin Burnett. He continued to use name "Mack" throughout his lifetime. He was very young when his mother died and about 10 years when his father died.

John Daniel Rust, Virginia's brother. also lived at times with "Lee" and "Jennie" Gallaway. During that time, John Daniel was working in their garage on his invention..The Rust Cotton Picker.
