Albert was born on June 25, 1895 to Albert B. Steinhauser and Margaret McCabe-Steinhauser and was the middle child of 3. He grew up in the Bronx, NY, and served in WWI where he ran messages on a motorcycle.

Upon returning fron the war, Albert found work at a garage, where he would work for the rest of his life. While at work a local girl would skate by and stick her tounge at him...her name was Helen Gondar, and they would one day marry.

Albert and Helen were married on December 29, 1924 at City Hall in Manhattan, and went onto have 9 children. The family grew to include over 25 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

Albert moved his family out to Lindenhurst, Long Island, where he became ill and passed away on March 7, 1962. He is still remembered and loved by his surviving children, and grandchildren. While most of his grandchildren never knew him, he is kept alive by the warm stories of his children, who tell of a man who never was angry, and always loving to his wife and children.

Albert was also a Giants fan, in spite of his Yankee roots, and a life long Democrat. His song with his sweetheart Helen was Let Me Call You Sweetheart.
