Born Nov. 4, 1927, in Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Carr Flynn.
She was a graduate of Hanover Township Memorial High School, a life member of St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Church, Ashley and a member of the parish Cyrenians. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Flair Footwear, Wilkes-Barre and Hanover Area School District as a crossing guard. Jean loved baseball an avid fan of Notre Dame and the Philadelphia Phillies. She also enjoyed Bingo.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward L. Henahan, Sr., Sept. 2, 2006; granddaughter, Mary Margaret Suda; brothers, Henry, Joseph and William Flynn; and sister, Kathryn Morris.
She is survived by daughters, Molly Fetterman and her husband, Robert, Hanover Twp.; Kathleen Chapasko, and her husband, Stephen, Wilkes-Barre; sons, Bryan and Edward, both of Ashley; grandchildren, Gerald, Christopher and Mary Kate Suda, Kristen, Caitlyn and Stephen Chapasko, Kelsey Henahan; 3 great-grandchildren, Sophia and Mylie Suda, Caleb Hudak and a sister, Mary Hoover, Lower Moreland.
Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Leo P. Lehman Funeral Home, 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Church, Ashley. Rev. Thomas J. O'Malley will officiate.
Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Leo P. Lehman Funeral Home.
