Elder Health Care Advocate, Dr. Rabin, was a long time San Francisco internist and cardiologist. He worked at the On Lok Senior Health Services. He also was helped Dr. Meyer Friedman in groundbreaking research linking "Type A" behavior with heart disease. He was remembered by family members as a observant, quiet man with a brilliant smile and fondness for different cultures.

He graduated in 1952 from the University of Wisconsin (at Madison) where he received his M. D. IN 1955. He received his internship and residency at Mount Zion Hospital. During this, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy where he cared for Navy and Marine personnel in Japan, Iwo Jima and Mare Island. He completed his residency at Mount Zion, then received a cardiology fellowship at Michigan Reese Hospital. Dr. Rabin returned to San Francisco, where he entered private practice in concert with a forty (40) year association with Mount Zion where he eventually became Associate Chief of Medicine. He was appointed Associate Chief Professor at UCSF.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Rabin of Corte Madera; son, Joshua Rabin of Long Beach; former wife, Deborah Rabin of Mill Valley; and brother, Joel Rabin of Maryland.
