Burial of Former Callawegian at New Bloomfield Wednesday

Funeral services were held at the Ashland Baptist Church at 1:00 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon, for Mrs. Mary Phillips, mother of Mrs. Roger Rice of Fulton, who died Monday at her home, one-half mile east of Ashland, at the age of 73. Her health had gradually failed since she suffered a second stroke of paralysis two weeks ago. Burial was at New Bloomfield.
She was the daughter of the late Wellington and Lucinda Daniels and was born and reared in Callaway.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Rice, and her husband, Nicholas Phillips, she is survived by five other daughters and one son. Surviving children: Mrs. Joe Sweeden, Guthrie; Mrs. Mac Hudson, Stephens; Mrs. Steve Betts, Janesville, Okla.; Mrs. John Bowers and Mrs. Charles McLaughlin, both of Kansas City, and Alfred Phillips, New Bloomfield. She also leaves a brother, Burt Daniels, of Columbia.

At the Baptist church in Ashland at 1 o'clock p. m. Wednesday, Elder Lloyd Sapp conducted funeral services for Mrs. Mary Phillips, 73, who died of paralysis Monday at noon at her home half a mile east of town. Daughter of the late Wellington and Lucinda Daniels, she was born and reared in Callaway county. Surviving are her husband, Nicholas Phillips, 6 daughters and one son. Burial was in Prospect cemetery, near New Bloomfield.
