Katherine Joene Clemons, 65, Stratford, Conn., died Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn.
She was born Aug. 31, 1935, in Holden, the daughter of James Oswald and Letha Tillie (Meier) Cotter.
On Jan. 29, 1954, she married Jesse M. Clemons in Holden.
Mrs. Clemons attended school in Holden and graduated from Holden High School.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Clemons lived in Pleasant Hill from 1954 until 1959 when they moved to Lee's Summit. In 1961, they moved to Marietta, Ga., and lived there until 1972 when they moved to Stratford, Conn., where she lived the past 28 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Brian D. Clemons; and a brother, William Cotter.
Surviving are her husband, Jesse M. Clemons, of the home; a daughter, Lori K. Alterio, Shelton, Conn.; two brothers, James E. Cotter, Lake Lafayette, and Gary D. Cotter, Belton; two sisters, Mary J. Thorp, Independence, and Norma J. McConville, Holden; a sister-in-law, Ann Cotter, Pleasant Hill; and two grandchildren.
Casketbearers were Jeff Cotter, Scott Cotter, William McConville, Bruce Purtle, Craig Cotter and Dennis Cotter.
Services were Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with the Rev. Wyatt Shanks officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.
