LANCASTER - Isaac Lee "Tubby" Stratton Jr., 81, of Cowden Court, Lancaster, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 27, 1926, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Isaac Lee and Minnie Critchfield Stratton. He was married to his loving wife of 58 years, Sadie Murphy Stratton. He was a retired engineer for Norfolk Southern railroad, serving 41 years with the company. He was a member of the Oleika Shrine Temple, Lancaster Lodge 104, and attended Lancaster Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the 1945 Danville High School state championship football team. He also was a clown in many of the Shriner's Parades.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stratton leaves behind two daughters, Janet (Eddie) Hasty and Karen (Gary) Belcher, both of Lancaster; a sister, Mildred Davis of Danville; two grandchildren, Dennis Hasty and Tracy (Nick) Featherly; and a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Michelle Featherly. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Edward and James Stratton; and a grandson, Jonathan Hasty.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ramsey Funeral Home with the Rev. David Young officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry and Ralph Murphy, Gordon DeShon, Paul Rigsby, Jess Pollard and Ralph Parson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Colin Raitiere, Dr. Tariq Muhammad, Dennis Hasty, Nick Featherly, Jim and Bill Critchfield, Mike and Kelly Murphy, and Gerald Lay.
