Mrs. Vida A. Edwards, 86, of 135 N. Rutan Ave., resident here since 1882, died Thursday night at her home.
She was born March 14, 1868, at Carroll County, Ind. In 1882 she came from Indiana to Wichita, and lived here since that time.
She was s member of the West Side Baptist Church.
Her husband, Charles G Edwards, a brick and stone mason, preceded her in death June 12, 1953. Surviving are four daughters Mrs. Lena Decker, 4000 West Douglas, Mrs. Hazel Brinton, 135 North Rutan, Mrs. Aileen Arrington, route 8, Wichita and Mrs. Thelma Moreland, 1615 North Belmont; a son, Raymond E. Edwards, Larned, Kan.; a sister Miss Lula Simison, 514 S Osage St.; two brothers, Will Simison, 514 S Osage St. and Roy Simison, of Glendale, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Culbertson Mortuary chapel Saturday, at 2 p.m., with Dr. Bruce E Mills, pastor of the West Side Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Wichita Park Cemetery
