Jewell was born in McCracken House east of Hwy 281 - had been the Stage Coach stand (stop) (a line owned by the Carson Lewis Stage Coach Company. The double-deck coach was drawn by four houses. Survivors include her daughter, Meg Garland Barnard of Waco and Gatesville; her son-in-law David S. Barnard; granddaughters, Blayn and Blayr Barnard; a sister Jessie (Saul) Lewallen and a brother, J.C. Saul, both of Mineral Wells; and many nieces and nephews.
