Widows, Tabatha Worcester & Lidia French petitioned the court to sell off as much of their husband's lands as necessary to pay the debts of their estates. The court granted this and appointed three men to give them advice.
On April 25, 1693 at a town meeting in Derby, it was voted to grant "lide French widow" a piece of pasture land which she has fenced in.
Dec. 26, 1707 the town voted to seat widow French in the next seat behind the pew.
