Earl Otto Clefisch was born on June 24, 1918 near Garber, Iowa to Henry and Anna (Kregel) Clefisch. He was baptized on July 21, 1918, and confirmed on August 14, 1932 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Elkport, Iowa. On February 14, 1942, he was united in marriage to Romilda Lewin at St. Peter's United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ceres, Iowa. He began farming in 1936. They moved to Waverly, Iowa in 1969 where Earl became an implement mechanic for Dieke Implement in Waverly. He retired in 1989. After retirement, Earl enjoyed helping farmers at planting and harvest times.
Earl is survived by one son, Lewin (Larrel) of Moorhead, MN; two daughters, Linda of Golden, CO, and Dixie (John) Thompson of Attica, KS; one brother, Laverne (Luva) Clefisch of Garnavillo, IA; grandchildren, Krystel (Christopher) Hyer of Cincinnati, OH, Nathaniel of Wadena, MN, Chris (Mindy) Thompson of Eaton Rapids, MI, and Nancy (Gary) Coates of Bloomfield Hills, MI; and by great-grandchildren, Adarius, Haylee, Sophia and Madelyn, Ashley, Hope, Catherine and Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; son, David; one brother, Herbert; and one sister, Ruth Troester.
