JAY L. BURGIN SR.

DENISON – Services for Jay L. Burgin Sr., 77 year-old retired Denson truck driver who died Sunday at Texoma Medical Center, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Johnson-Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Charles Winchester of Price Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Burin was born in Ethel on June 16, 1904, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hix Burgin, attended Ethel schools and married Mattie Sperry on Feb. 25, 1925 in Collinsville. He had lived in Denison since about 1940. Before his retirement he was a driver for Mid-Continent Freight Lines. He was also a Methodist.

Surviving are his wife of Denison; son, J.L. Burgin Jr. of Denison; brothers, Wayne Burgin of Oklahoma City and Ollie B. Burgin of Denison; sister, Mrs. Laura Gilmore of Gainesville; two grand-daughters and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be J.G. Campbell, Clark Garner, Dean Davis, Jerry Davis, Butch Burgin and Andy Davis.

The family will be at 136 N. Mauk St.
