My name is Sonja Luella Funk Ross. I died on July 11, 2008 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. I fought a long, hard battle right to the end, but I am needed elsewhere now.

I was born May 9, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to goodly parents, Oscar Herbert and Luella Marie Butcher Funk. I was their last child and was loved and cared for very lovingly. I grew up in Salt Lake City, where I was lucky enough to know and love such wonder people. I graduated from Granite High School, Class of 1960. On August 11, 1962, I was married to my very best friend, Coy Jack Ross in Salt Lake City. We were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 11, 1970 for time and all eternity. I was active in the LDS Church, serving mainly in the Primary and as a Visiting Teacher. We moved from Salt Lake City, Richfield, Utah in 1985 where I have enjoyed many years with my husband, children and grandchildren. My family was my life.

I am survived by my loving husband, Coy, of Richfield; my children: Coylene and Don Brinkerhoff of Richfield; Shane and Emily Ross of Springville; Christy and Rene Gonzalez of Tucson, Arizona; 11 grandchildren: Kirsten Brinkerhoff, Kaylee Brinkerhoff, Franklin Brinkerhoff, Tyler Brinkerhoff, Adelaide Ross, S. Jonathan Ross, Henry Ross, Darrius Pena, Tayden Pena and Alejandro Gonzalez; and my sister: Elva Oaks-Green of Salt Lake City. I was greeted in death by a sister, Irene Losee and my youngest son, Randy Jack Ross, who died May 11, 2008.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 12 Noon at the Richfield 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for a Viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 206 North 400 West in Richfield on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the 7th Ward Chapel on Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the Services.
Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
