She was born June 9, 1966, in Lafayette, Ind., the daughter of Eugene and Sharon Tabert Funk. She enjoyed gardening, painting, writing poetry and the outdoors.
Surviving are her husband, Max Garcia of Aroma Park; one son, Nathaniel Garcia at home; one daughter, Brittany Garcia at home; her father of Ohio; her mother, Sharon (Paul) Mclean of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sharon and Matt Simon of Bourbonnais, Tamara Lagacy of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandmother, Willa Tabert of Fowler, Ind.; and grandfather, Harold (Lala) Funk of Kankakee.
