Virginia Garrison Kernodle, age 74, of Kerr Chapel Road, Elon, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the hospice home. She was the wife of Howard Lee Kernodle who survives.
Virginia was employed for many years with Flint Hosiery. She attended Pilgrims Chapel and St. Regis Chapel. Virginia enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and collecting dolls. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John David Kernodle and his wife, LaDania, Larry Kernodle and his wife, Lorrie all of Burlington; daughters and son-in-law, Lorraine Martin, Tina Kernodle, Robin Jordan and her husband, Joey all of Elon; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cholly Deaneen Kimrey; father, Aubrey Frank Garrison; mother, Viola Moore Wantrobski; step father, John Wantrobski; step mother, Dot Robertson; sister, Verona Taylor.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11:00 a. m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. D. L. Perry and the burial will follow at Concord Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of the daughter, Robin Jordan, 2518 Ossipee Front Street, Elon, NC 27244.
