Martha Elizabeth Castleberry, 84, of Greenville passed away July 19, 2012, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Veronica Greanead officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born Dec. 27, 1927, in Frederick, Okla., Martha was the daughter of William Lee and Mary C. (Schmidt) Hassell. On July 17, 1947, she married James Howard Castleberry.

At age 16, Martha began her career working for Clark's Drug Store in their soda fountain. She was promoted to cosmetics, an area she specialized in for many years. After Clark's closed, she immediately continued her work for McGaughey's Drug Store where she worked for many years before retiring at age 83, working in medical sales the last few years. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church.

Her survivors include her daughters Kathy Weis and husband, Joe, and Gale Poteet and husband, Rodney, all of Greenville; sister Bobbie Thompson of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren Alison Weis of Dallas, Ryan Poteet and wife, Stacy of Plano, Phillip Weis of The Colony, Robert Poteet and wife, Lora of Greenville and Christopher Castleberry of Sulphur Springs; great-grandchild James Michael Castleberry; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son James Dale Castleberry; two sisters Callie Ann Kuczaj and Mary Lee Hassell; and two brothers William Lee Hassell Jr. and Tom Ben Hassell.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren Alison Weis, Ryan Poteet, Phillip Weis, Robert Poteet, and Christopher Castleberry.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
