Bruce Douglas Thane, 53, of Deford, Michigan, died unexpectedly, February 2, 2007 in Hills & Dales General Hospital.

He was born October 9, 1953 in Pontiac to Willard and Nancy May (Meyer) Thane. He married Amy Jean DeLisle November 13, 1971 in Kingston, Tuscola County, Michigan.

Bruce served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Viet Nam War. He worked for various factories including General Motors and Plastech Manufacturing in Caro until his disability. He was a member of the Caro VFW Post #4164. Bruce enjoyed Science Fiction and playing computer games.

He loved tattoos. Bruce enjoyed mowing the lawn, raking and burning leaves and took great pride in keeping his yard nice.

Bruce was survived by his wife, Amy; children: Bruce William Thane of Cass City, Nancy Jean Thane of Deford; father, Willard (Margaret) Thane of Tawas; sisters: Joan Johnson of Akron, Betty Ann Troyan of OK, Dawn (Gil) Contaras of Clarkston; brothers: Willard (Marie) Thane of Cass City, Terry Thane; sister-in-law, Cathy Thane of Bay City; many nieces and nephews. He was also survived by Margaret's children and their families: Don, Ron, Dan, and Gary Swalwell.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy; brother, David Thane.

Funeral: Kingston Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ken Sanderfur officiating. Pallbearers: Jay, Alvin and Buddy DeLisle, David, Brian and Gil Contaras. Military honors under the direction of Caro VFW Post #4164.
