American track and field athlete, he was one of the world's top sprinters and long jumpers during the 1930s and 1940s. In 1936 he served in the Coast Guard which prevented him from being in the Olympics of 1940 and 1944. Peacock was belated at being elected into America's Track and Field Hall of Fame. The last years of he suffered from Alzheimer's disease.he was Denied the oppertunity to win gold medals and the role in the Olympics. He was a resident of Yonkers NY at the time of his death.
