Walter D. Corrigan, Jr. was the son of Walter D. Corrigan, Sr. and Jessie Donaldson and the husband of 1) Lucille Thorsen, she died 1924, 2) Unknown, divorced 1927, 3) Marie Graves, divorced, 1931 and 4) Florence Delaney. He was an attorney, who first went into practice with his father. By 1926, however, he suddenly was compelled to leave his father's firm and then he set up his own practice in Delavan, and, later, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He was also a talented musician on the piano and mandolin. He enjoyed playing jazz piano at various clubs and saloons.
From death notice in Milwaukee Journal, March 1, 1938, p. 8:
"Corrigan, Jr., Lawyer, Dies. Heart attack Proves Fatal to Former Milwaukeean at Fond du Lac, Wis. Walter D. Corrigan, Jr. 37, an attorney formerly of Milwaukee died unexpectedly of a heart attack Monday at Fond du Lac, Wis. where he had been in practice for the last three years...He was graduated from Riverside high school, Milwaukee State Teachers College and Marquette university, where he completed his legal course in 1922. Shortly after graduation he and the late Lucille Thorsen of Milwaukee announced their marriage, which had taken place four years before. She died in 1924. On Feb. 1, 1928 Mr. Corrigan married Marie Graves, from whom he was divorced in 1931. Mr. Corrigan was a candidate for civil judge here in 1926 and for justice of the peace in 1931...Service will be held at 11 a.m. at Forest Home chapel with burial in Forest Home Cemetery."
From "Green Bay Press-Gazette," Green Bay, Wisconsin, March 3, 1938. p. 11:
"At Corrigan funeral- Dr. F. E. Donaldson of this city was in Milwaukee today where he attended the funeral services for his nephew, Walter D. Corrigan, Jr., Fond du Lac attorney, who died suddenly at his home from a heart attack. Interment was in the Corrigan family lot at Forest Home cemetery, Milwaukee. The deceased was the son of Walter D. Corrigan, Sr., prominent Milwaukee attorney."
According to cemetery records he was buried in the same lot as his mother, Jessie. However, Walter, Jr. did not have his own gravestone. After his death his widow in 1930 was working as a stenographer in Milwaukee and living with daughter, Lorraine. However, in 1944 Florence enlisted in the Women's Army Corp, listing herself as a widow, no dependents. Apparently her daughter Lorraine had died, burial unknown.
Children (in addition to those listed in familylinks below):
Lorraine Corrigan, b. 1928 (daughter of Walter and Florence)-d betw 1940 and 1944, probably in Milwaukee
