Dale grew up in Taber, Alberta Canada. After graduating from high school, Dale moved to Torrance, California to work with his brother, Woodrow. While there, Dale received a mission call to serve for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southwest Indian Mission. He served faithfully for 3 years learning the Navaho language and loving the people there. After returning from his Mission, Dale moved back to Torrance, CA where he met his future wife; Anna Mae Groutage. Shortly after their marriage; Dale was drafted to serve in the United States Army. He and Anna Mae were stationed in Aberdeen, MD until he received an honorable discharge. Their first son, Kevin Scott was born there. The family moved back to Torrance, and eventually settled in La Verne, CA where they welcomed their daughter, DeeAnne, and son Timothy James into the family. Dale was involved in a number of business ventures; owning an airplane radio repair shop where he learned to fly and became an avid pilot owning several aircraft through the years; partner and owner of two electro-mechanical companies; Electro Module; and Data Conversion, Inc.
