Dwayne Kevin Scott, 44, of Richmond, departed this life on July 7, 2008.

He was a 1982 graduate and star football player of Marshall-Walker High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin on scholarship until the onset and diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Calvin C. Chambers.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted family, mother, Joyce Scott-Chambers; grandmother, Virginia Scott; aunts and uncles, William Scott (Melissa), Joan Brown (Norman), Wanda Scott, Vincent Scott; stepbrothers, Calvin T. and Rafer A. Chambers of California; a host of devoted cousins, other relatives and many devoted friends.

Remains rested at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th Street, where the family received friends Friday, July 11, 2008, 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Remains laid in state Saturday, July 12, 2008, 11am, at Cedar Street Baptist Church, 2301 Cedar Street, where funeral services were held 12 noon Saturday, July 12, 2008. Rev. Dr. Anthony Chandler, pastor. Rev. Barbara Massey, eulogist. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.
