MARGARET E. BARNES- (July 18,1926 - July 5, 2012): Margaret Elizabeth Elliott was born on July 18, 1926 in Deerfield, Mo. to Charles Edward "Ed" and Neva (Jones) Elliott. On May 31, 1946, Margaret was united in marriage to Max Leo Barnes in Paola, KS. In this union they were blessed with three children, Jack, Jerry, & Kristi. Margaret was a retired school bus driver for Stockton R-1 School District after 30 plus years of service. She thoroughly enjoyed her job and especially the time spent with the children. Margaret never tired of telling the humorous stories of the antics that occurred on the bus or in the bus barn. Upon retirement for Margaret and Max, they enjoyed camping and fishing at Schell Osage where they made many new friends. Margaret was a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church which played a very important role in her life. Her faith in God helped her battle many struggles. On July 5, 2012, Margaret began her new life in Heaven with her Beloved Savior and her loved ones waiting for her there. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a niece Karen Estes. Margaret is survived by her son Jack Barnes of Walker, Mo., Jerry Barnes and wife Jacque of Cane Hill, Mo. and Kristi Moore of Stover, Mo.: five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous foster grandchildren. Burial will be in Alder Cemetery on July 8,2012. Margaret will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and caregivers at Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility.

Graveside Services Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Alder Cemetery. Visitation Saturday 6 to 7 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
