Obituary of David William Henn
David William “Dave” Henn was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 8, 2020. He was born on June 30, 1939 in Jacksonville, FL to Edward H. and Mildred J. Henn. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1956 and from the University of Florida in 1960 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. After periods of employment with Hercules Powder Co., in Brunswick, GA and Newport Industries in Pensacola, he retired after 30 years of employment at Air Products and Chemicals in Pace, FL as a Process Engineer, initially in the Pilot Plant, and subsequently directing energy conservation projects.

Dave was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Pensacola for over fifty years, serving as President and many years as Treasurer. He was also a square dancer for many years, belonging to three clubs and holding the offices of President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Northwest Florida Square and Round Dance Association. He also enjoyed gardening and fine music, supporting the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for many years. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bruce G. Henn; and his sister, Sharon F. Herberling. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Donald J. Herberling; his sister-in-law; Mariel Rose Henn; and nieces, Melanie (Leo) Marshall, Jennifer Bolton, Amanda (David) Espurvoa, and Cynthia Herberling; great-nephews, Michael (Amber) Derezinski, Derrek Felski, Allen Marshall, Graham Bolton, and great-nieces Meagan and Anna Josephine Bolton, and adopted nephew, Wesley (Becca) Wood. A visitation will be Monday, January 13, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. An interment will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Pensacola.
