Russian nobilty. Born in St. Petersburg, he was the son of Prince Pavel Scherbatow, a colonel and aide-de-camp of Czar Nicholas II. His mother, Princess Anna Bariatinskaya, was a lady in waiting to Empress Alexandra. The Czar was his godfather. As a child, Prince Kyril spent most of his time among the Imperial family and played in the palace. His family fled the revolution in 1917. Prince Kyril served as an interpreter for the British Royal Navy, worked in banking in Brussels and Paris, and immigrated to the United States in 1932 as a representative for Veuve Cliquot champagne. He married Buffalo, NY native Adelaide Munroe in 1939 and Lucille Palmer in 1971.
