MRS. FRANK J. IVES
Mary Allie Dufphey, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. J.L. Dufphey was born July 6, 1889 in Madison county Nebr. In 1913 she came to Tilden to take up the work as a clerk in the T.T. McDonald General Merchandise store. In this capacity she wrought efficiently and made a host of friends.
On Febr.5, 1918 she was married to Mr. Frank Ives of Tilden, the future life of these two joined together in holy wedlock looked bright on the horizen. In August of of this year a cloud appeared in the sky of this home, Mrs. Ives took sick and it soon became necessary to remove her to the hospital at Norfolk. She rallied for awhile, and her return home was made possible, but later she lapsed into a serious condition, which grew worse until death released her from pain and suffering, December 19, 1918. She was 29 years and 5 months and 13 days old. Throughout her entire sickness everything possible was done for her by her faithful husband and her beloved parents and friends; yet the time had come when the soul should be released from this earthly body and take its flight back to God from whence it came..
Mrs. Ives with great bravery and fortititude endured her suffering and pain and none ever heard her murmer or complain and thus she made the task of those caring for her much easier by her patience.
She attended the M.E. Sunday school and was a member of the Queen Esther society of the church.
Two brothers preceded her to that better land and there are left to mourn her loss her loving husband, her father and mother, and one brother, other relatives and a host of friends that she drew to herself by her genial character and her readiness to help those about her.
The funeral services for Mrs. Ives were held at the home at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Henry Zinnecker. Interment was made in the Osborn cemetery southeast of Emerick.
