Services for Billy Earl Alligood, 71, of East Dublin, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Alligood Cemetery. Rev. Wally Weaver will officiate. Mr. Alligood was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. He served in the U.S. Airforce. He was a retired textile worker. He was a Baptist. He died Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Alligood of East Dublin; his children, Patty Rice of Tallahassee, Fla., Michael Humphrey of Deland, Fla., Donna and Richard Copas of Dublin, Bernard and Joy Tanner of Winder, David Tanner of Ft. Myers, Fla., James Mullis of Gainesville, Fla.; her sister, Valette Raffield of Eatonton; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mickey Evans, Donovan Kight, Daniel Copas, David Tanner, Bernard Tanner and Richard Copas.
