Lakewood resident Jayne S. Winchester Harris, formerly of Wall Township,died on Sunday, July 6 at VanDyke Hospice, Community Medical Cenyer in Toms River.

She was 84 years old.

Born in Albany, N.Y., she lived in Wall Township for many years before coming to Lakewood in 1998. Mrs. Harris was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She served with the U.S. Army medical corps as a tech sergeant E-5 during World War II. She also volunteered for many years a nurses aide at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune and was longtime parish member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Wall. Jayne was an avid shopper and greatly enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.

She was predeceased by her brother, Earl Winchester.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, John L. Harris; her daughters, Linda McCully and her husband, John, Shelly Harris, and Tracy Hines and her partner, John Hersch; grandchildren, Sean Gardineer, Janel and Adam Drake, Jamie Butkus, Lindsay, Kenneth and Taylor Hines; and her great grandchildren, Dylan and Meredith.

Relatives and friends may gather in her memory on today from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, followed by a service at 6:30 pm.

A private committal service will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Monmouth SPCA, 260 Wall St., Eatontown, 07724.
