Daugter of David William Dickey and Mary "Polly" Hickman. David Dickey was an early California pioneer coming to the state in the early 1850s. Nancy was married 1st to Addison Bailey and 3 children came of that marriage. Sometime in 1855 Addison died while crossing the Isthmus of Panama, leaving Nancy a widow. Nancy married Overton Harris Foster and had 5 more children.
