Services for Mary Adeline (Hatten) Laffoon, age 86 of West Monroe will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2008 from the West Monroe Methodist Protestant Church in West Monroe with Rev. Jerry Salsbury and Rev. Eddie Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hebert Cemetery in Hebert under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the church. Mrs. Laffoon was born in Jackson Parish on May 15, 1922 to the union of Alvin Edward and Ellen Louvenia (Thompson) Hatten and died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Henry Clay Laffoon, her daughter: Elaine Smith, her great-grandson: Christopher Drake Smith, her sisters: Nancy Louella Faulk and Irene Flores and her brothers: Alfred Hatten, Robert Green Hatten, Alvin Edward "Bud" Hatten and William "Windy Bill" Hatten. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Bernard and Helen Laffoon of West Monroe, Raymond and Trish Laffoon of Monroe, Roger and Brenda Laffoon of Monroe, her daughters and sons-in-law: Ruby and Earl Bagwell, Christine and Willie Earl Jones, Peggy and Ricky Sims and Johnnie Faye and Mike Moye all of West Monroe, her sister: Beulah Hatten Oser of Columbia, special nieces: Estelle Brown and Mary Strickland, twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Marshall Hatten, Johnny Brown, Matthew Word, Jason Clay Laffoon, Neil Wayne Laffoon and Josh Laffoon. Online condolences may be made at www.riserfuneralhomes.com.
