Arnold Flinn, 71, North East Center, was found dead at his late residence Tuesday. The medical examiner disclosed he had died of natural causes. He was born April 23, 1895, in Shekomeko, the son of the late Edward and Josephine Stickels Flinn. He was married to the former Mildred Pixley in Millerton in August 1919. She died in 1952. He was a lifetime resident of this area, and was a member of American Legion Post 178, and Veterans of World War I organization in Copake. He served in France during World War I. He was a member of the famed Lost Battalion and was wounded once in action. He is survived by two sons, Darwin J., Clinton Corners, and Ronald A. Flinn of Millerton; one daughter Patricia J. Flinn, Amenia: three brothers, Russel C. Flinn, Millerton; Conklin Flinn, Amenia; and Hunting Flinn of Sheffield, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Passini, Millerton. Funeral services will be conducted at the Valentine Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Irondale Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday evening at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. American Legion services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
