Mary Catherine Dittemore was the daughter of Henry Dittemore (1813-1884) & Elizabeth Yeakley (1819-1864). She was born on September 16, 1843, in Buchanon Co, MO, and married Frederick Samuel Moser on October 9, 1859, at the home of her parents. Together they had 11 children that are known with only one dying in infancy.

Mary died on August 16, 1922, in Troy, Doniphan Co, KS. She was initially buried in Mosquito Creek Cemetery but was moved later because Frederick had nightmares about Mary's grave being washed away. He was correct in his fears because Mosquito Creek Cemetery did flood and many of the graves were washed away including their son-in-law, Thomas Jefferson Smith. The family was never aware of his body being recovered.

On a side note, Mary's father Henry was the nephew of Adam Dittemore (1799) and both came to Buchanan Co, MO together.
