PARK HILLS — Leeman "Eugene" LaPlante, 74, of Park Hills, passed away Oct. 2, 2003 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Eugene was born Oct. 18, 1928 at Flat River.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nellie "Bess" LaPlante; also, two brothers, Harold LaPlante and Denver LaPlante of Park Hills.
Survived by wife, Shirley "Hails" LaPlante of Park Hills. Three sons, Steve and wife Donna LaPlante of Bonne Terre; Bruce and wife Maretta LaPlante of Terre Du Lac and Jeff LaPlante of Park Hills. One daughter, Michelle and husband Steve Sutton of Park Hills; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One brother, James LaPlante of Park Hills. Three sisters, Alllene, Mrs. Cledith Reeder of Park Hills; Dorothy, Mrs. Robert Cunningham of Desloge; Doris Jean House of Desloge; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friend also survive.
He retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass and was also a local building contractor for many years.
He was a member of Desloge Elks and lifetime member of the Farmington V.F.W. Post #5896, member of Desloge Eagles #3350 and member of American Legion of Festus.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Saturday at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Eugene LaPlante will be Sunday 2 p.m. at the Horton-Wampler Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
