Dennis J. Cook, 63, of Cass City, Michigan, died unexpectedly July 2, 2008 in his home.

He was born September 12, 1945 in Detroit to Weller and Juanita (Frierson) Cook. He married Mary Lee Claes Seyuin November 1, 1996 in Detroit. She died January 14, 2008.

Dennis graduated from Redford Union High School in 1963. He was editor-in-chief of the RU Newspaper which he renamed 'The World.' While preparing for entry to Michigan State University, he worked for the Detroit Suburban Newspaper Company owned by Floyd and Ruth McGriff, and their son Jack MacGriff. Dennis loved the challenges of working in the news business. He left college after three years to help care for his ailing mother.

Dennis dearly loved his two children Leah and Vaden, and was an actively involved father in each of their lives. They share a special and lasting bond. So much was left unsaid by his sudden and unexpected passing.

Dennis worked for General Motors Chevy Spring and Bumper Plant in Livonia for 15 years. He then worked for Hughes Gardens in Southfield as a landscaper and gardener. Dennis enjoyed working in his yard. He also loved animals including his dogs and horses. He was a voracious reader of many topics. Dennis and Mary, (Mary was a second marriage), retired to Cass City to enjoy their beautiful property and their animals.

Dennis was survived by his children: Leah (Allen) MacNeill of Ithaca, NY; Vaden (Amy) Cook of Howell; grandchildren: Aurora, Conall, Adam, Draco, Colette, Sloan, Drake, and Cameron.
He is also survived by his first wife Joyce.
