Mr. Ashton was a graduate of Ruggles High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an independent truck driver and member of Teamsters. Mr. Ashton retirec in 1998 from Custom Hoist in Hayesville.
He is survived by his wife, Anita M. (Black) Ashton, whom he married Sept. 15, 1956; his children, Sharon (Mark) Anderson of Ashland, Tammy (Tony Hall of Marion and Rich Ashton of Columbus; two grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Hall; and two sisters, Doris Mutchler and Dorothy Cyrus of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Ashton; and sister, Ruth Rogers.
