Ira E. Correll, 95, Oblong, died about 6:10am Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson.
Born Sept 13, 1898 in Crawford County, he was the son of Harlan Correll and Rachel Lackey. He retired from Marathon Oil as a crude unit operator. He was a member of Bible Chapel Congregational Christian Church, rural Robinson.
On Sept. 20, 1919, he married Belva Correll and she preceded him in death Oct. 27, 1989. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Ellis and Merle; a brother; two sisters; and a grandson.
Surviving are four sons: William H, Clair, Jerry, and James R; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Lois) Smith; a sister, Vesta Ruddell; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 10:30am Thursday, Sept. 1, at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, with Rev. Carl Hall officiating. Burial is in Oblong Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8pm today.
