Mrs. J. C. Agar (Agnes)
Passed Away Sunday
Mrs. John C. Agar passed away at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Francis
(BEULAH AGAR) Kennedy, on West St. south on Sunday morning, Feb. 13.
Miss Agnes Vyse was born in Ontario,
Canada, Feb. 20, 1848, and was
married Jan. 12, 1873, to John C.
Agar at Rodney, Ontario. To this
union, six children were born, Charles
J. of Flint, David J. of Marlette,
John T. of Owendale, Wilson of
Flint and Mrs. Francis Kennedy of
Cass City. Mrs. Charles Phillips, a
daughter, preceded the mother in
Mr. and Mrs. Agar came to Michigan
in 1885, locating at McCue Corners,
in Evergreen township. Fourteen
years ago they moved to Cass
City to the home where Mrs. Agar
passed away. Mr. Agar died Feb. 11,
1915, just 12 years and one day before
Mrs. Agar was called to join
him. She was very active up until a
week before she died when she fell on
the ice Feb. 6, breaking her hip below
the socket. She leaves one brother,
Joseph Vyse, of Highgate, Ontario.
Funeral services were held Tuesday
morning at 10:30 at the Baptist
church. Rev. Willerton of Argyle officiated
and interment at ElkIand

from out of town were Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Agar and children and Mrs.
Charles Richards of Flint, Mr. and
Mrs. David Agar and three children
of Marlette, Mr. and Mrs. John Agar
and son, Forest, and Miss Lavern
Agar, all of Owendale, Wilson Agar
and daughter, Eleanor, of Flint, Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Phillips and sons of
Detroit, and Mrs. Lucy Agar and
son, Frank of Ann Arbor.
