Born March 14, 1916, in Haarlem, Holland, he immigrated to the United States in 1954. He was the owner and architect of Van Gaale Construction and the Dutch Mill Trading Co. Antique Store. He was the choir director for Holy Family Church in Artesia. He played the organ and sang for St. Catherine's Church in Temecula and Pala Mission. He was a Rotarian and the director of the Chamber of Commerce in Artesia.
Mr. Van Gaale is survived by his wife, Anna Van Loon Van Gaale of Winchester; sons Peter Van Gaale, Henry Van Gaale and John Van Gaale, all of Murrieta; daughters Hennie Monteleone and Anneke Mossa, both of Murrieta; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
