Funeral services for Loreta Daugherty Roberts, 80, of New Llano will be held at
11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005 in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville
with the Revs. Ray Blanchard and Edgar Evans officiating. Burial will follow in
the O'Banion cemetery in Leesville, under the direction of the Hixson Funeral
Home of Leesville. Mrs. Roberts died Tuesday, June 21, 2005 in the Byrd Regional
Hospital in Leesville. Loreta was born in Baca County, Colo. She married LaVern
Roberts of he Colony of New Llano. She was preceded in death by her parents,
Robert W. and Bessie Jenkins Daugherty; husband, LaVern Roberts; brothers, Walter
and Billy Daugherty and sister, Roberta Snodgrass. She is survived by her children,
Ronald R. and Sara Roberts, Marvin W. and Theda Roberts, all of Leesville and Sharon
K. and Bobby Skidmore, of New Llano; one sister Elsie Allen of Pineville; three
sisters-in-law, Ollie Gaylord of Lusby, Md., Lois Roberts of New Llano and Bonnie
Daugherty of South Louisiana; grandchildren, Jeffery and Benita Skidmore, Becky and
Mike Moore, Rhonda and Mark Bartram, Sherri Roberts, Juanita and Bobby Hickman;
great-grandchildren, Dereck and Jessica Skidmore, Marty and Brad Bartram, Robert
May, Amanda Martin and Christopher Moore.
