JUDGE SAM R SCOTT DIES AT WACO
Citizens of Rockdale and Milam County read with regrets press reports of the death of Judge Sam R. Scott, 73, who passed away suddenly last Thursday in a Waco hospital. He had suffered a heart attack several days before.
Funeral Services were held at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Waco, with the Rev. W.W. Melton officiating. Burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Waco Bar Association and the Brotherhood Bible Class of the First Baptist Church of which Judge Scott had been teacher for twelve years.
Sam R. Scott began the study of law at Cameron when a very young man, and at the time of his death ranked as one of the foremost jurists of his time.
