Born in Laredo, Texas, she lived in Lorain County more than 30 years. She lived in North Ridgeville and Grafton before moving to Avon.
She was a cosmetologist for more than 25 years. She was then a seamstress for Dalton Manufacturing in Lorain and Invacare in Elyria.
She was a member of The Cross Community Church in Elyria, where she was a greeter and worked with the hospitality ministry.
She also was a member of the EMH Health Club in Avon
She enjoyed sewing, art and crafts.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jose R Leal Sr.; a daughter, Corina L. Mosher of Bellbrook; sons, Jose R. Jr of North Ridgeville, R. Michael of Goshen and Daniel M of Cincinnati: 13 grandchildren: three great-grandchildren: sisters Gloria Leal of Findlay, Olga Birchfield of Fostoria, Viola Ibarra of Toledo, Mary Olga Salazar of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Alicia Inskeep of Buffton: and a brother, Joe T. Leal of Lima.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose J. and Carmen (nee Sanchez) Leal.
Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at The Cross Community Church, 525 N. Abbe Road, Elyria. The Rev. Roger Loomis will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
