Joseph left his father's farm at age 15 and came to St. Louis to learn the trade of plastering. Married Louisa Sauzek Nov. 16, 1891 at St. Michael's Church in Paderborn, IL. In 1893 he established a business, and in 1910 incorporated as Mueth Plastering Company.

Funeral from Gebken Chapel, 2842 Meramec st., Mon., Dec 20, 8:30 a.m., to Resurrection Church thence to SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. Deceased was a member of St. Anthony's Men's Sodality, Benecolent Society, Br 309, C.K. of A., Orphan Society, St. Vincent de Paul Conference, Resurrection School Society and Contracting Plasterers' International Association

Funeral services for Joseph Mueth, a plastering contractor in St. Louis for the last 44 years, will be held Monday morning at the Gebken Undertaking establishment, and Resurrection Catholic Church, Meramac and Babmerger. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.

Mr. Mueth, who was 67 years old, died yesterday of a kidney ailment at his home, 3913 Gustine avenue. He had been head of his own plastering company since 1893 and had worked as a plasterer since he was 15 years old.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louisa Mueth; two sons, Wallace P. and Joseph Mueth Jr.; and three daughters, Mrs. Edwina Kovarik, Mrs. Lee Abkemeier, and Sister Marie Antoinette of Our Lady of Good Counsel Convent.
